Description
HB11 was founded by Heirnrich Hora and spun out of the University of New South Wales in 2017. It is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
Their approach is to utilize chirped pulse amplification lasers to generate the high temperatures required for proton - boron 11 fusion. The reaction products of p-b11 are all charged particles (helium nuclei) which opens the possibility of direct conversion to electricity.
HB11 has been granted a patent related to this technology.
